444: The First War For Armageddon. The planet is invaded by a mighty host of Khorne Daemons and World Eaters Chaos Space Marines, led by the Daemon Primarch Angron. The Space Wolves Space Marines Chapter bolsters the Loyalist Defences but is only thanks to the sacrifice of almost 100 Grey Knight that Angron is banished and the invasion driven back. 664: After the disaster of the Battle of Elixia, the surviving Skitarii are sent to investigate the runes inscribed on ancient monoliths and open by accident a gate to the Warp. Elixia is invaded by the Daemons and an Exterminatus is issued few days later. (Codex: Skitarii, 7th edition)

745: The ocean world of Tyran Primus falls to an invasion of Tyranids. Magos Varnak manages to compile a datacodex about the new enemy and send it into the space, before activating the auto-destruction runes of the outpost. (Codex: Skitarii, 7th edition)

746: The Sons of Guilliman Space Marines Chapter defeats a Tyranid attack on the world of Nova Terra. The entire ruling class is executed for it has been corrupted and infiltrated by Genestealer cults. The entire population of the world rises up against their liberators, and Sergeant Constantinus blames the Imperium for making him a killer. The old order is broken and heresy spreads freely, drawing the attention of other servants of the Ruinous Powers. Constantinus is the killed by an operative of the Officio Assassinorum, and with his death the rebellion ends. (Codex Chaos Space Marines, 6th edition)

747: The Skitarii fight against the Tau colonists of the world Vesh’yo and destroy them. Six transport ships full of xeno weaponry return to the forge world Tigrus. (Codex: Skitarii, 7th edition)

748: After the Battle of Macragge, a shard of the Behemoth Hive Fleet reaches the world of Elica Daugel, controlled by the Adeptus Mechanicus. The Skitarii fight a glorious war against the Tyranids and manage to defeat them. The datacodex with the tactics employed is sent to the near forge world Accatran, where it is archived and forgotten. 757: Typhus and his Death Guards Chaos Space Marines penetrate the capital hive of Hydra Minoris, causing the first outbreak of the zombie plague. (Codex Chaos Space Marines, 6th edition)

777: A Chaos fleet spearheaded by the Black Legion tries to cut a path through the Cadian Gate, but the combined might of the Astra Militarum and of the Imperial Fists Space Marines Chapter defeats it in the battle of the Iron Labyrinth. (Codex Supplement: Black Legion, 6th edition)

822: Abaddon attacks the Eldar maiden world of Ildanira to recover the Skull of Ker’ngar. (Codex Supplement: Black Legion, 6th edition)

823: Naaman is born or becomes Sergeant of the Tenth Company of the Dark Angels Space Marines Chapter (it is not specified which, but probably the first one). (Codex Dark Angels, 3rd edition)

830: In response to Van Heppel’s report filed in 760.M40, Inquisitor Grim analyses the organisation of the Space Wolves Space Marines Chapter, finding their divergence from the tenets of the Codex Astartes. (Codex Space Wolves, 3rd edition)

850: the third Inter-Guild War of the Inca Sector begins. The Sons Of Antaeus Space Marines Chapter answer the call of the Guild Fathers for help against pirate attacks, but they are never seen again, even if from that day there have been many unconfirmed sights of giant and extremely resilient Astartes in grey and black livery in the Ultima Segmentum. 854: Millions of pilgrims abandon their faith in the God-Emperor after a dark vision of Abaddon the Despoiler. Many of them perish during the journey to the Eye of Terror, but the survivors are grateful for being enslaved by the Black Legion. (Codex Supplement: Black Legion, 6th edition)

  • The beginning of the Badab War. Lugft Huron, Chapter Master of the Astral Claws Space Marines Chapter, declares himself Tyrant of Badab. (Codex Chaos Space Marines, 6th edition)
  • End of the third Inter-Guild War of the Inca Sector. (Chapter Approved 2004)

912: The Astral Claws Space Marines Chapter is defeated on their homeworld Badab. Even if seriously wounded, Chapter Master Lugft Huron manages to escape to the Maelstrom. The Red Corsairs Chaos warband is born. (Codex Chaos Space Marines, 6th edition)

917: Azrael becomes Master of the Deathwing of the Dark Angels Space Marines Chapter. (Codex Dark Angels, 3rd edition)

925: Waaagh! Grax attacks the star systems of Ryza. The ensuing great battles draw the attention of the Waaagh! Rarguts too. (Codex: Skitarii, 7th edition)

926: The Chaos warband known as The Purge unleash plagues and famine on the world of Vaxhallia, exterminating its population. (Codex Chaos Space Marines, 6th edition)

928: The Crimson Sabres Space Marines Chapter purges the Balethu cults on the world of Umidia, taking the first step on the road that will turn them into the Crimson Slaughter Chaos warband. (Codex Chaos Space Marines, 6th edition)

934: The Battle of Vrodken Ford. The Leman Russ Battle Tank Anvilus Imperator of Colonel Sirhan (3rd Company of the 124th Cadian regiment) destroys a Chaos Battle Titan by shooting it in a knee. The Leman Russ is then crushed by the fall of the Titan. Colonel Sirhan is awarded the Order of Macharius for his heroic deeds, even if someone thinks that he should be posthumously court-martialled (Chapter Approved 2004)

937: Inquisitor Pranix tries to reclaim the Hollow Worlds of Lastrati from the Red Corsairs Chaos Space Marines with a force composed by Space Wolves Space Marines and Astra Militarum soldiers from Cadia and Tallarn. The war proves too hard and the imperial army is forced to retreat. (Codex Chaos Space Marines, 6th edition)

939: Azrael becomes Grand Master of the Dark Angels Space Marines Chapter. (Codex Dark Angels, 3rd edition)

945: Inquisitor Lord Fyodor Karamazov executes the prophet Icarael, on the world Salem Proctor, as an heretic, ignoring Ecclesiarch Decius XXIII’s (a Thorian convinced that Icarael could be a vessel for the Emperor’s spirit) requests of freeing him. (Codex Witch Hunters, 3rd edition)

956: The Great Scourging of Inquisitor Lord Torquemada Coteaz cleanses the hives of Opridia from the taint of the Plague Lord. (Codex Daemonhunters, 3rd edition)

959: Abaddon invades the Pandorax system, in the Demeter sector, at the head of an alliance of Traitor Legions. (Codex Supplement: Black Legion, 6th edition)

961: Abaddon manages to open the Damnation Cache, an ancient portal to the Warp on the planet Pythos. A combined force of Dark Angels and Grey Knights reaches the Pandorax system to stop him, and in the end they manage to close the Damnation Cache, but Abaddon has already left Pandorax taking with him a rogue psyker of great power. He will gift this psyker to the Daemon Primarch Fulgrim, which will use it as an avatar for his god, Slaanesh. This psyker is rumored to be a former member of the Dark Angels Legion, and one of the eight original Grand Masters of the Grey Knights. (Codex Supplement: Black Legion, 6th edition)

963:

  • The entire Fire Hawks Space Marines Chapter sets out for Crow’s World to repel the Eldar invaders, but it never emerges from the Warp. (Chapter Approved 2004)
  • the execution of the Heretic archivist of the Gethsemane Reclusium. He supposed that Abaddon would take the mantle of the Daemonhood only after his thirteenth Black Crusade, when the Imperium will be turned to ashes. (Codex Chaos Space Marines, 3rd edition)

969: The plagueship Terminus Est is sighted near the Cando system and the zombie plague spreads on all its worlds. (Codex Chaos Space Marines, 6th edition)

980: On the world of Heletine, the Salamanders fight an urban warfare against the Black Legion. The Order of the Ebon Chalice of the Adepta Sororitas arrives to help the Space Marines, but they are halted by the Daemon Prince Lord Gralastyx. Saint Celestine appears from nowhere and slays the Daemon Prince before disappearing again, granting the victory to the Imperial forces. (Codex Supplement: Black Legion, 6th edition)

983:

  • The Fire Hawks Space Marines Chapter is declared Lost in the Warp. (Chapter Approved 2004)
  • Usarkar E. Creed fights the Hrud migration in a three-years war. (Codex Imperial Guard, 3rd edition)
    • 991: The Skitarii of Stygies VIII fight on the world of Magogue against the newly-awakened Necrons. The only surviving Tech-Priests are imprisoned in stasis fields by Trazyn the infinite and become part of a monument to the fall of Magogue. (Codex: Skitarii, 7th edition)

      992:

      • Roghrax Bloodhand of the World Eaters sails to the Eastern Fringe to claim the skulls of the mightiest Tyranid species and offer them tho Khorne. (Codex Chaos Space Marines, 6th edition)
      • On the planet Aurelian, Usarkar E. Creed annihilates the raid of the Eldar from the Ulthwé Craftworld. (Codex Imperial Guard, 3rd edition)
        • 995:

          • The world Abheilung, home to a Dark Mechanicum sect, is colonized by unsuspecting settlers. A host of Daemon Engines emerges from the volcanoes and decimates the invaders. (Codex Chaos Space Marines, 6th edition)
          • The Red Corsairs Chaos Space Marines assault the world of Parenxes, defended by the Death Hawks and Space Wolves Chapter and manage to capture the Space Wolves’ strike cruiser Wolf of Fenris. (Codex Chaos Space Marines, 6th edition)

          997: The Storm of Vengeance Campaign on Piscina IV sees the Dark Angels Space Marines Chapter fight against an Ork horde led by Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka and Nazdreg Ug Urdgrub, finally repelling it. Naaman, Sergeant of the Tenth Company, dies in the war. (Storm of Vengeance Campaign, revised for 4th edition)

          998: Myriads of Skitarii are sent to the daemon world Hell Fangs, near the Maelstrom, where the Omnicopaeia (a device containing all the STC with a psychic component) are supposed to be. (Codex: Skitarii, 7th edition)

          999:

          • A Chaos Space Marines Fleet emerges from the Maelstrom and assaults the systems of Chogoris, Kaelas and Sessec, bringing them to their knees. (Codex Chaos Space Marines, 6th edition)
          • The dormant powers of many latent psykers across the whole galaxy are awakened by a strange phenomenon. This creates many warp rifts, and countless worlds are lost to the Daemons. The activity of the Thousand Sons Chaos Space Marines seems greatly increased. (Codex Chaos Space Marines, 6th edition)
          • Innumerable rebellions seeded by the Chaos Space Marines in the Segmentum Pacificus sprout in the same moment, striking worlds like Enceladus, Darkhold and Minisotira. Large zones of the sector are impossible to contact. (Codex Chaos Space Marines, 6th edition)
          • The Night Lords allies of Huron Blackheart infiltrate the fortress-monastery of the Marines Errant Chapter on Vilamus, switching off power shields and defence lasers. The Red Corsairs then attack both the apothecarion and the Chapter’s vaults at the same moment, before escaping with almost all the Marines Errant’s gene-seed.           • The thirteenth of Abaddon’s Black Crusades is launched. Usarkar E.
